Iced Earth - Gettysburg

Release date: 06.06.2005

In three parts (‘The Devil To Pay’, ‘Hold At All Costs’, ‘High Water Mark’), Iced Earth narrate the historic events that took place in that legendary location in Pennsylvania in July 1863, when the Confederate troops met the Union in the most blood-soaked battle ever on American soil. Iced Earth and their Gettysburg DVD chronicle this dramatic historic subject in language, images and sound more comprehensively than any other rock band before them. “I’ve visited the original battle sites several times and read a lot of books about the subject”, says Schaffer. “But I’d never claim to be a Gettysburg expert. I can still find out much more about it because I’ve realized: the more you study this battle, the more different points of view you’ll discover.” Also included for the first time is the track in two different 5.1 Surround Sound versions (Metal and Orchestral).

01. The Devil to Pay (based on the first day of fighting at The Battle of Gettysburg on July 1, 1863)
02. Hold at All Costs (based on the actions taken on the southern end of the battlefield on July 2, 1863, specifically in the areas of the Wheatfield, Devil's Den, and Little Round Top)
03. High Water Mark (based on Pickett's Charge, the Confederate assault against the Union positions on July 3, 1863)
